For short period of time ( less than 48 hours) it will be sufficient to resort to low-cost short cannulas (mainly in teflon, without soft and large wing, without extension), leaving the short cannulas of higher cost and better performance (in polyurethane, provided with soft and wide wing and with pre-assembled extension) for clinical situations in which a peripheral access is required for several days.
